Welcome to YWAM Durban

Vibrant...Colourful...Diverse...Strategic...These are just some of the words that come to mind when describing the city of Durban. Located in the province of KwaZulu Natal, Durban is its largest city with a population of over 3.5 million people. It is also famous for having the largest sea port in Africa, its subtropical climates, many beaches. Durban even had the honour of hosting 5 games during the 2010 World Cup Soccer Tournament!

South Africa has always been known for its diversity. “The Rainbow Nation” truly represents God’s creativity in people groups. Durban has a rich heritage dating back to Shaka Zulu – the Zulu warrior king, but it also has the largest number of Indians in the world, outside of India itself. Add the English and Afrikaans and you will experience a little of Revelation 7:9 where all tribes, nations and languages assemble. With all of its people and locations, Durban is the ideal place for cross-cultural outreaches, evangelism, and the birthing of new ministries.
