Discipleship Training School (DTS)
18 January to 6 July 2012
and
12 September 2012 to 1 March 2013
The Discipleship Training School (DTS) will help you to grow in God, grow in ‘self, and grow in your understanding of how that affects the world. This intensive training course begins with an 11-week lecture phase that includes international students and speakers, corporate and personal times of intimate worship, influencing neighbours and communities and so much more. After the lecture phase, you will be commissioned into an 8-12 week practical field assignment that will allow you to put into practice the things learned in the classroom. ..Many times, this becomes one of the greatest adventures in your life!
The DTS is designed to encourage you in personal character development, cultivating a living relationship with God, as well as identifying your unique, individual gift and calling in God. It will further equip you to serve God’s purpose either in or outside of the YWAM family of ministries, strengthening a commitment to reach the lost, preparing you to reach current and future generations, influencing multiple spheres of society.
Here at YWAM Durban we have sent DTS outreach teams to places such as New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Argentina, Brazil, as well as throughout South Africa. Get firmly established in your Christian faith...Expose yourself to the world of global missions...Be challenged to listen to the voice of God...Reach the destination in your life. Use your creativity to communicate God to others...GO and make disciples!
INTO AFRICA DTS
The Into Africa DTS is an exciting adventure to see people raised up from the entire world to impact the future of Africa and the world! We believe that Africa is crying out for two things specifically: people of integrity who can take the lead and creativity! When we have been dreaming wonderful new dreams about the future – and writing them down – we need someone to take us there. Creativity is the ability to connect seemingly unconnected ideas and come up with something new. We desire to train and equip the indigenous people of Africa, through discipleship, to reach the continent of Africa for God. In partnership with the church we focus on the indigenous people by creating a platform to celebrate their gifts and empower them to reach their full potential as well as provide training, to all age groups, discipling them, through the word of God, to empower them to empower others. People who hear the Word of God, put it into practice, and influence those around them can bring the radical message of hope that will transform the lives of the hurting – Jesus!
