What is an ATS?
The Author Training School is a three-month school especially catered to nurture, support and equip writers to work on their novel, memoir, and non-fiction book away from distractions.
Each student will not only work on their chosen project, but they will create a book report that will be used to pitch their work to agents and traditional publishing houses. The school will alternate between teaching and writing weeks. During the teaching weeks, visiting authors and publishing experts will provide instruction in writing craft and the business of publishing. After each period of input, you will embark on writing your book during designated writing weeks. Alongside your fellow students, the ATS staff will be present to advise and encourage you in the writing journey.
WHY DO AN ATS?
We don’t believe writers should be doing it alone.
The ATS offers you a community of writers to work alongside, share ideas, and spark conversations. It’s in this community that you will learn more about the importance of receiving and giving input, whether is in the classroom or at the dinner table, and in these places of conversation and community, you will grow as a writer. Here you will share your thoughts, find your voice, be heard, and flourish.

We believe in the power of story. We believe that our words build worlds, stories infect our thoughts, and in turn, one story can change a person. We want you to leave the school not only more confident in the importance of story, but also the importance that you continue to write your book, and step away confidently knowing that God created you to also create with Him.
